My opinion on the Buttler/Ashwin controversy is that its NOT Buttlers fault and its NOT Ashwins fault either
Ashwin is entitled to appeal
I thought the TV umpire made the incorrect decision
Shouldve been dead ball..... play on
That was a Royal Mess Up, Rajasthan...you should’ve won even after Buttler’s dismissal.
— Aakash Chopra (@cricketaakash)Exactly. NOT OUT. By the laws https://t.co/K0oWgAMLD3
— Scott Styris (@scottbstyris)OFFICIAL Playing condition interpretation
If you believe Buttler wouldve been in his crease when Ashwin delivered the ball he is NOT OUT pic.twitter.com/bqciVJRUd5
If you nick the ball, you should walk. That’s the Spirit of the Game. How many actually walk though??? Think 🤔
— Aakash Chopra (@cricketaakash)Everyone has their view on the run out, there is the spirit of the game which is a line in the sand, and the actual rules on the other ,if I was a skipper or a bowler I will warn the non-striker once ☝🏻
— subramani badrinath (@s_badrinath)Will teams now start monitoring players in opposing teams to see which ones back up out of the crease etc etc and use it as a tactic to get them out !!!?????? Surely the game hasn’t come to this .....
— Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan)Buttler was still in his crease when Ashwin was in his delivery stride! He wasn’t trying to gain an advantage! He was literally walking in with the bowler...
— James Taylor (@jamestaylor20)Ashwin was completely within his rights to dismiss butler there. Don’t understand how Spirit of Cricket can be questioned. How many times have u seen a batsman wait for Umpires decision when he knew he was out?
— R P Singh रुद्र प्रताप सिंह (@rpsingh)No deliberate attempt to steal some ground from If didn’t stop, turn then take the bails off he wouldn’t have left his crease!! Disgraceful decision!!! Fair play award certainly isn’t going to Mohali 😂
— Paul Collingwood (@Colly622)Wonder if teams in the World Cup gonna be thinking this is a way to dismiss 🤣🤣
— Tino95 (@tinobest)Shocking!!!
— Rikki Clarke (@RikkiClarke81)I can’t believe what I’m seeing!! Terrible example to set for young kids coming through. In time I think Ashwin will regret that.
— Eoin Morgan (@Eoin16)It’s within the laws of the game but Jos Butler should have been warned by Ashwin before that. Very Surprised ! Remember Ashwin doing the same in an international game where Sehwag withdrew the appeal.
— Mohammad Kaif (@MohammadKaif)Opinions ??? pic.twitter.com/9IXy0MqXRY
— Carlos Brathwaite (@TridentSportsX)How’s playing within the laws of the game ‘unfair’??
— Aakash Chopra (@cricketaakash)Ashwin, that’s shocking behaviour! Very disappointed to see that.
— Jason Roy (@JasonRoy20)Hahahaahaha Ashwin u little Rippa Hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣 this is historic only way to get him out 🤷🏾♂️ well I’ll take it hahahahaha Ashwin , Ppl need to know it’s the rules and until it’s change guys will do it , but Jos stealing as well getting a head start for a run 🤷🏾♂️
— Tino95 (@tinobest)Thought Jos may have 🥊 on
— Chris Lynn (@lynny50)He ain’t winning any spirit of cricket awards is old ashwin
— Dale Steyn (@DaleSteyn62)What an absolute disgrace! spitting tacs and rightfully so!!!
— Mitchell McClenaghan (@Mitch_Savage)I can’t believe what I’m seeing!! Terrible example to set for young kids coming through. In time I think Ashwin will regret that.
