ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ഇന്നിംഗ്‌സിലെ ആറാം ഓവറില്‍ കെമര്‍ റോച്ചിന്‍റെ പന്തില്‍ ഷായ്‌ ഹോപ് പിടിച്ചാണ് ഹിറ്റ്‌മാന്‍ പുറത്തായത്. എന്നാല്‍ വിന്‍ഡീസ് താരങ്ങള്‍ അപ്പീല്‍ ചെയ്തെങ്കിലും ഫീല്‍ഡ് അംപയര്‍ ഔട്ട് അനുവദിച്ചില്ല. ഇതോടെ വിന്‍ഡീസ് നായകന്‍ ജാസന്‍ ഹോള്‍ഡര്‍ ഡിആര്‍എസ് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു.

അള്‍ട്രാ എഡ്‌ജില്‍ പന്ത് ഉരസിയതായി തെളിഞ്ഞെങ്കിലും ബാറ്റിലാണോ പാഡിലാണോ എന്ന് വ്യക്തമായിരുന്നില്ല. എങ്കിലും ഡിആര്‍എസ് പരിശോധിച്ച മൂന്നാം അംപയര്‍ ഔട്ട് വിധിച്ചു. ബാറ്റ്സ്‌മാന് അനുകൂലമായി വിധി അനുവദിക്കാം എന്നിരിക്കെയാണ് മൂന്നാം അംപയറുടെ ഈ നടപടി. ഇതിനു പിന്നാലെയാണ് വ്യാപക പ്രതിഷേധം ഉയര്‍ന്നത്.
