ബിര്‍മിംഗ്‌ഹാം: ലോകകപ്പില്‍ ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിനെതിരെ പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ച മാറ്റവുമായാണ് ഇന്ത്യ ഇറങ്ങിയത്. ഓള്‍റൗണ്ടര്‍ വിജയ് ശങ്കറിന് പകരം യുവതാരം ഋഷഭ് പന്തിന് ഇന്ത്യ അവസരം നല്‍കി. കഴിഞ്ഞ മത്സരങ്ങളിലെ മോശം പ്രകടനത്തിന്‍റെ പേരില്‍ വിജയ് ശങ്കര്‍ ഏറെ വിമര്‍ശനങ്ങള്‍ കേട്ടിരുന്നു.

ഇന്ത്യയുടെ 15 അംഗ ലോകകപ്പ് സ്‌ക്വാഡില്‍ ഇല്ലാതിരുന്ന ഋഷഭ് പന്ത് ഓപ്പണര്‍ ശിഖര്‍ ധവാന്‍ പരിക്കേറ്റ് പുറത്തായതോടെയാണ് ടീമിലെത്തിയത്. ഋഷഭ് പന്ത് പ്ലെയിംഗ് ഇലവനിലെത്തിയത് മുന്‍ താരങ്ങള്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടെയുള്ളവരെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിച്ചു. മൈക്കല്‍ വോണ്‍ അടക്കമുള്ളവര്‍ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ടീമിന്‍റെ തീരുമാനം സ്വാഗതം ചെയ്തു.
